Here are my initial ideas. I need some further research, but it is a start. ~Julie

I'd like to suggest that we use the "Welcome to All", "Where Both Platforms Agree", or "Hoodwinked" cartoons for our Venn diagrams. I'm looking forward to hearing back from you both! (Rob)

Any are fine. If I have to choose, I will go with "Welcome to All" and "Hoodwinked" (Joe).

I agree. Those are fine! ~Julie

"Hoodwinked" and "Welcome to All" will be great choices. (Rob)
Here are my opening thoughts ... you've got great ideas Julie!

My initial thoughts.

Guys you both went into a lot more detail than me. I guess I'm the slacker of the group :)...Rob, I looked again at the people in line and I agree with you, they are of different social classes. Initially, I lumped them together as middle class. It appears to me that almost all of them are European, except for maybe the second to last person. Julie, you mentioned the immigrant's sign. I wasn't sure whose sign that was, but your interpretation makes sense.

I've gone ahead and compiled everything we've collected into a first draft of our Venn Diagram. We've got so much analysis on "Welcome to All!" that you will have to click on the text field and scroll through it! Let me know what you both think.

Wow guys, so far so good! You guys both had great ideas. I really like the class distinction observation. I am teaching summer school for the next 5 hours, but I'll be able to take a closer look after that. Thanks for compiling all that! ~Julie

Looks good. What else needs to be done? (Joe)

I looked up the actual name (Hoon/Moon). Here is a link to the article... http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9906E4DB143DE633A25750C1A9639C94669ED7CF So I think it is Hoon instead of Moon. Other than that... I don't think we need to make any other changes. ~Julie Here is the change to the diagram-just deleting the Moon part. (Julie)

I don't have anything additional to add, so I think that the only thing left to do is post the Venn diagram as a "final" version. (Rob)
